An old, defeated enemy grew stronger and came back hungry

This overthrow of our democratic republic has been long in the making, starting with the losers of the Civil War. The rebelling armies were defeated and surrendered on the battlefield, and the Union welcomed the seceded States back into the fold. But the slaveholders who took the financial hit with emancipation lived on, bringing their attitudes with them: people are commodities to be owned and used to make a profit.
What is at Stake
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Who has the Gold makes the Rules
As the US expanded westward, so did the quest for profit. The Golden Rule of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” gave way to the quest for profit. The disappointed, the resentful, the greedy were drawn to the well capitalized, the rich, and the gold.
A loose cabal formed, intent on acquiring enough power to bend the rules in their favor and eventually change the rules. And those rules were ones protecting the individual rights and autonomy of the people the cabal intended to use to their profit.
I am grateful to Heather Cox Richardson for her book How the South Won the Civil War, which guided me to this understanding.
They have had well over 100 years to work their plan.
Today
That plan, right now, is Project 2025. It is the culmination of a long series of actions to ease the way:
- rigging elections
- successfully stealing the election for the presidency in 2024
- installing a President they can manipulate
- supporting election of Senators and Representatives who will swear fealty to their installed President as an individual in violation of their oaths to the Constitution
- supporting appointment to the Supreme Court of a 6-3 majority who will be guided by the cabal rather than the rule of law, the Constitution, precedent of the past 250 years, and the potential harm to the people of the United States.
Unless we the people can overcome this insurrection, the overthrow of the government of this democratic republic will be complete.
